Sask Pork's Agri-Education program focuses on why we raise pigs and what is involved in producing the very high quality pork Canada is known for globally. We participate in and sponsor student education events in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Yorkton, and Lloydminster and also support the Western College of Veterinary Medicine's Vetavision event held every two years in Saskatoon.
We offer a variety of education resources on the pork production, pork products and nutrition information. Teachers/educators who would like resources for their classrooms, please contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We also have available an electronic Powerpoint presentation "Why We Raise Pigs" suitable for grades K-5 that covers the key aspects of pork farming.
Multi-commodity information about Saskatchewan's farming community is available at Farm and Food Care Saskatchewan. We also encourage you to join the conversation on their blog at http://www.realdirtblog.ca/author/farm-and-food-care-saskatchewan/.
