In 1998, the Saskatchewan pork industry received a special, one-time grant of $1 million for swine research from the Province of Saskatchewan Agri-Food Innovation Fund.  For a complete list of all projects funded under this grant from 1998 - 2005 click here.

Research Priorities
  -  Environmental (manure management, odour control, air quality, environmental issues, etc.
  -  Animal production (engineering, housing, production, nutrition, etc.)
  -  Worker health and safety
  -  Animal welfare (health, etc.)
  -  Base funding (annual grants to educational institutions and research facilities)
  -  Public awareness (education, etc.)

Funding Policy
Approved projects are eligible for funding up to 100% of eligible costs. Matching or additional funding from other sources is encouraged. 

Sharing Results
Sask Pork is committed to providing the results of research to the industry. All applicants must specify how they will communicate the results of the project. Sask Pork reserves the right to publish or distribute all results following completion of the project.

Eligibility
Any person or organization with a concept that will benefit or be of practical value to the Saskatchewan pork industry is eligible to apply.

Confidentiality
All proposals and project information are public information unless otherwise negotiated between the applicant and Sask Pork.
