“Getting Started in Outdoor Pig Production-What Do I Need to Know?” with Dr. Kelsey Gray will focus on aspects related to feed and water management systems, fencing to keep your pigs in and predators out, housing for different seasons, pig safe handling, transportation and planning for marketing and slaughter.

Dr. Kelsey Gray is a mixed animal veterinarian at the Cochrane Animal Clinic (Cochrane, Alberta) and assists small producers navigate aspects related to feeding, housing, pig health and biosecurity, behaviour, transport and regulations. Over her career, she has developed a passion for outdoor pig farming and working with smaller family farms. Kelsey volunteers with the Calgary Stampede on the Pork Committee and advocates for agriculture awareness and education.
