Soroptimist International Home Town Heroes Event

Sask Pork is proud to sponsor the Soroptimist International Home Town Heroes Event on June 7, 2018. 

Location: Louis, U of S Campus, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Entertainment/activities: Toon Town Big Band; Saskatchewan based appetizers; fortune teller, silent auction, 50/50 draws; cash bar

Theme:  Celebrating Saskatoon Home Town Heroes, and saluting extraordinary women from our community; Announcing Soroptimist Live Your Dream Award Winner(s)

Event Summary: We define a Hero a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements or noble qualities. Our Home town is the town where we were born, grew up or currently reside.  Soroptimist International is an international voluntary organization of women working to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.  Our programs lead to the social and economic empowerment of these women and girls.

Soroptimist Saskatoon, (the home town organization) actively supports and encourages women, girls and organizations who serve them through grants, community programs, partnerships with other like-minded organizations and educational awards in Saskatoon and surrounding area.  Funding for these programs is provided though organizational fundraisers. New this year is the Home Town Hero celebration, 7p.m. Thursday June7, 2018, at Louis on Campus!  Everyone is welcome to attend!  Event tickets are $50.00/person and available at sisaskatoon@soroptimist.net or from any SI Saskatoon member.

The event will feature a celebration of extraordinary women of Saskatoon:  Millie Reynolds; Laurie O’Conner, Erica Warriner, Ellen Gaunt and Linda Walker (formerly Chamagne) the announcement of our Live Your Dream Award winners for 2018; Toon Town Big Band, a taste of Saskatchewan appetizer buffet, fortune telling; silent auction, 50/50 tickets and a whole lot of fun
