Cheesy Pork Burgers

An instant BBQ classic! The savoury seasoning and melted cheese will make this your new favourite burger.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (500 g) lean ground pork

  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) buttermilk

  • 2 tsp (10 mL) crushed sage

  • 3/4 cup (175 mL) shredded Cheddar cheese

  • 3/4 tsp (4 mL) salt

  • 1 tsp (5 mL) black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) oregano

  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) finely diced onion

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine all ingredients: mix well. Shape into 4 patties.

  2. Preheat barbecue on high; reduce heat to medium. Place patties on on lightly oiled grill; close cover and grill patties 5 to 7 minutes per side or until no longer pink inside. Serve on buns and garnish.

Note: Always cook ground pork to well done.
